Armenia – Autumn Wine Feast!










In the very beginning of October Armenia celebrates the feast of ingathering of grape harvest, wine feast which takes place at Areni village, the place where winery of 4500 years old BC was discovered 12 years ago. Every year a thousands of guests come to Areni to participate in enormous feast. But we invite you not only to enjoy this great event but to dive into wonderful world of Armenia winemaking by visiting the most important wine regions of the country within next few days.
Tour dates – beginning of October
Tour program.
Day 1. Guests’ meeting at Zvartnots airport, transfer to hotels and checking inn. In the evening we will have a city tour with wine tasting at one of Yerevan wine rooms.
Day 2. We will go see the unique historical artifacts – the ancient pagan temple Garni and Geghard Monastery named after Longinus spear which had wounded Jesus. Garni temple is located in the same-name village so there we will cook and taste very famous Garni’ lavash – Armenian traditional bread. On our way home we will visit private winery were we will taste the gorgeous Armenian wine.
Day 3. Tour to Tatev Monastery, religion heart of Armenia. We will get there using the longest ropeway in Europe enjoying the exciting views to Armenia’ nature. After visiting Tatev, we will have our lunch at authentic atmosphere of the true country house, will we enjoy homemade food and some drinks. We will stay this night at Tatev village’ guest house.
Day 4. We will move towards Jermuk which is famous by its balmy mineral waters. For sure we will strengthen our health by drinking spring water there. We will enjoy the wonderful view to Jermuk waterfall and then go to wine capital of the region – Yehegnadzor city where we will visit 2 wineries. We will stay there for a night at country guest house.
Day 5. Today we are going to attend a very great event – we will participate at Wine Feast which takes place at Areni village where winery dated 4th century BC was discovered 12 years ago. Wine and fun will flow like water! Besides, we will visit one of the best as experts say wineries of Armenia, which doors are opened only once a year! In the evening, tired but happy, we come back to Yerevan.
Day 6. It’s a petty but time to say goodbye just come so we transfer our guests to the airport. See you soon!
